African Sailplane Qualifying Grand Prix 2015

Day 7

.. and so to the last day of this Sailplane Grand Prix Qualifier.

A short task for the last day, so everyone should be home in time for the closing party. 

Start line opened at 13:30 and the first two back were LG and AJ, so the scores will be posted soon I hope !

Day 5

Difficult day ( see the speeds !) and most gliders were late entering the start zone. One landout before the start, one landout at Citrusdaal and WL still battling homewards.   ... and just to make our day complete, there is no electricity  AGAIN ! Thanks very much Escom !

Day 4

This is the one we need to make a contest.   Two tasks have been set, Task A 475.9km, Task B 277km similar direction to A.    Start line opened at 1315, Task A    Now we have a new record speed for SGP - 189.8 kph !!

Day 3

Late launch today to ensure some lift would be available. Almost no wind on the ground and the temperature is going up.

All gliders launched quite quickly (drop zone much closer today !)   Start line opens at 13:10

Yesterday's task was a pilot selected out and return to some of the local wineries.   Today the weather is much calmer with a wind from the South East.  Tasks will be set later.

Day 1 of this SGP Qualifier was the longest task (712.5 km) and fastest speed yet (167.3 kph) for a Sailplane Grand Prix !
