The forecast for the day showed reasonable conditions to the south and west with blue skies and lighter winds than yesterday with the wind tapering later in the day.

A sniffer was launched and was not able to stick so a second sniffer was launched and also fell out.  The third sniffer stuck and the launch was started around 1315 with tasks scaled back to 2.5 hrs for club and 2 hrs for 18/20m.  The launch took about 30 minutes per class and the 18 m gate was opened at 1443.

To the east of SOSA there were nice cu, being generated by the Lake Ontario moisture, which made it easy to climb to 6400 ft before the start, but west of SOSA the sky was blue.  Conditions were lower and weaker to the SW towards the first turnpoint at Tillsonburg where a few people found themselves lower than they wanted to be.  The next leg north to new Hamburg had some good climbs over Woodstock and on the way into the zone.  From New Hamburg you could see cu in the Brantford area and into the last turnpoint at Hagarsville.  The cu again being generated by moisture from Lakes Ontario and Erie.  Good climbs could be had topping out around 6000 ft making for a faster section of the task and onto final glide.  

Jared Granzow wins the day in 18 m and Rafael Nunes wins his first ever Nationals day in Club class. 

The evening was capped off with a beef brisket and pulled pork dinner expertly organized by Virginia with wine sponsored by Pelee Island Winery and a keg of beer sponsored by Fox One Corp.
