Grand Prix Feldkirchen 1st day

Todays weather was nice but not excellent. Thermals up to 2 m/s and 10 – 15 kts for some upslope wind caused difficult conditions. So the race started with hesitation, till H1 was initiative heading towards Thörl Maglern. Soon we had 2 parties: One flying to Gerlitzen and one beeing succsessfull. The Gerlitzen Group had to fight over 50 minutes to get up again, while a group of gliders around Wolfgang Hartl headaed towards Thörl and then TP Iselsberg. Unluckiliy the tracker of Heimo Demmerer did not work, because he was one of the pilots showing great performance. But first it was Wolfgang Hartl who lead the field, untill Edi Supersberger had his great time. He overtook one after the other, till it came to a gréat showdown after TP Mayerhofen at the very east of the task. In an interesting battle Edi and Wolfgang gained height for the final 50 kilometers. Nearly head to head they thermaled up, everyone on the internet was excited waiting who will start to speed towards the final TP Oswaldiberg. It was Edi Supersberger who had the best end and won the first day. On 2nd place the „invisible“ Heimo Demmerer, close behind the hard fighting Wolfgang Hartl. Also very strong on 4th place Sepp Kammerhofer after a restart. The start is done, it was exciting for pilots and visitors, we hope to gather many visitors on the net within the next 7 days.
