Unfortunately the CIM is missing an ASG 29 since Sunday evening ,with a pilot from Austria. SAR with hundreds of people , helicopters ,planes, dogs and even compititors are trying to find the pilot. The first priority from the organizers is to find the pilot and all concentration is used for that at the moment.As long as the pilot is not found, there will be no soaring, as you surely can understand. Greetings from Rieti. Pilots are on their way for a 2 hour and 30 minutes AAT in each class. The weather still looks fantastic, but the meteo warned this morning for TCU and CB. Before start we could see one to the East of the field, but as it stayed there, pilots were launched at 12.40. Yesterday was a super day with huge speed in each class and very satisfied pilots from 9 different countries . A pity it was not a 1000 point day! Today , day 4 , was just great. Though the tasks were short, 18 m had 345.9 km . due to expected thunderstorms, Alberto Sironi flew with a speed of 154 km. / h. In open class IP2 flew with a speed of 146 km/h making the pilots Pierre and Arnaud very happy.Distance was 379.8 km. From this place I want to congratulate the Dutch juniors Rene and Tim with their EGC championship and runner up and Nathalie from France another junior, with being WWGC Champion!!! Cheers Ritz

At this stage pilots flying day 4 are still coming in. Y in 18 m class, flew his 345.9 km task in 2 hours and 17 minutes!!And AS was even faster. Finally the great Rieti weather, but according to some pilots the tasks could have been larger. But that is easy said when in the morning CB and TCU\'s have been forecasted. Yesterday was a day with at 4 again ,a 40 km tail wind for the pilots. Today there is NO wind. A few out-landings yesterday but also enthusiastic pilots. Look for more news_small...

Good afternoon, The pilots are all up in the air for competition day 3. The 10 tow planes are doing a great job in bringing everybody up as quick as possible. As you have seen on the tasks for today there are 2 AAT tasks one for 15 and one for 18 m. They both fly for 3 hours. All other classes have left for polygons. Yesterday was specially difficult for 18 m. class. One of the pilots mentioned that the TP was too far to the N. Reason a lot of out- landings in this class.All other classes had...

Hello and welcome in Rieti, We start with competitionday 2 today! Yesterday was a real battle with the unexpected tough wind. Pilots really had to struggle. But as winner in club class Paul Wijsman said; "It was worth the fight". Giorgio Galetto came in bringing his logger with a smile. "It was tough" , he said " but some parts were good. The north was blue, the south still cloudy from the passing cold front , which stopped us to fly on the first competition day, but west of the track was ok!"...
