With a good forecast for the Welsh borders we briefed the competitors for a 350 km racing task into to the north-west. To our horrot when we came out of briefing the weather to the north-west looked horrible with 8/8 spreadout. Why does the weather never watch the forecast?
After beating the met man Sid with a large stick we got a new weather forecast and called the competitors back into a rebriefing for a 256 km task to the south and east.
We launched into an overcast sky and much to this Competition Director's amazement the competitors not only stayed airborne but slowly climbed to 5000 ft amsl.
The sun eventually came out on track and competitors enjoyed a race in improving conditions with very few landouts.
We are all looking forward to eating Dan's workd famous spag bol and the charity qiiz tonight.
