Today we had the briefing in the air conditioned club rooms which was appreciated. 

Some comments from yesterday:

"I flew faster than I've ever flown before, and at a speed that would have been a world record a few years ago. Today I finished mid-field."

"Boy when you guys turn on good weather, you really turn it on."

"I decided to fly faster today so I cruised at 120kts and eased off a bit when I got down to 7000'."

Lars broke Bruce's record by flying at 177kph raw and 168.2kph handicapped. His stats were pretty impressive; 13% thermalling, 99.7 average cruise speed, 8.6kt average climbs, and an LD of 57.

The weather for today needs a trigger of 38C with a max forecast of 42C and 50kt winds, possible CBs later.

Grant Hudson bravely stood and talked about his accident yesterday. He was distracted, became overloaded, and ran out of options.

David Pietsch mentioned that this is the 5th landing accident at consecutive competitions. He talked about hypoxia and the fact that on a hot day the density altitude means you need Oxygen at lower levels, and that this effect persists even at lower levels.

Some pilots are having trouble seeing other gliders' Flarms so they are being updated today.

The ASW20 Jet glider is here for people to see and it will be flying tomorrow.

A prize was awarded to Colin Stauss today for doing marathon wing runs on the SZD55 and preventing a wing drop on 2 consecutive days.

The forecast is not promising for tomorrow, and we will have the pilots' meeting then.
