There was only 8 mins between the end of briefing and the start of gridding.
The briefing started at 10.15 with predictions of an early start and gridding at 11am with first launch at Noon. The sniffer launched at 11.45 and quickly reported good climbs.The fleet was launched and the last gate opened at 13.52. The gliders are getting good heights, (11000' was forecast). We needed a trigger temperature of 31 degrees and a maximum of 40 is forecast for Renmark.
The initial task was to be West to the hills but the Airforce did not release the airspace so the task had to be changed. It is a double triangle for both tasks, South then East and then again but not the same turnpoints.
Simon Brown landed back before the gate opened and did not relight.
