The weather proved to be a lot better than expected yesterday with the pilots reporting cu clouds to the north and west with strong climbs to 6000 feet and good energy lines in the run. As a result they went much faster than expected and devaluing the day by finishing in under 3 hours.
Today we have a 267 km polygon Racing Task to the south east and then to the north-east. Expected conditions have blue themals with bands of high cloud casting shadows on the ground. Most competitors started soon after start opened, no doubt concerned about the bands of high cloud visible in the sky approaching from the south. At the moment they are enjoying good climbs to almost 5000 ft amsl on the first leg.
We expect first finishers to arrive around 5pm.
