First Official Practice Day

Benvenuti!!!!
Ciao Italia! Ciao Rieti and ciao and welcome to all readers from the world.
Here we are with the first official English update from the

5 th FAI JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS in RIETI
by Ritz

This morning we had the first official briefing at 10.30. Leonardo Brigliadori, the competition director, introduced his team,…. the “ Military “ meteoman explained why it was not a real great day , with “only” 2 cu’s expected, but still enough blue-thermal activity to set a nice task and….. Marina Galetto, the deputy director gave some important local news_small and advise .
Leo, send the pilots away with the words; “ Enjoy your flight, look out and increase your speed in turbulence and close to the ridges.”

Tasks were given on the grid.
Club class;
Polygon with 5 points; Distance 213 km.
Standard class ;
Polygon with 5 points; Distance 264,5 km

First launch was announced for 13.00 and just a bit later, at 13.15 the first glider went in the air on this first official flying day!

Smooth and very quick launches and nearly all pilots were up in the air. Some had to go to the scruteneering and some to get their official badges ; they stayed on the ground, so you know when they have 0 points tonight; nothing to worry about!
First gliders arrived at 5 and after.

Due to internet problems in the head quarters, this news_small is late and not live, but “live “ written, but anyhow you can read it!
WIFI works in the camping area and….at the pool. Might go there tomorrow!
Stand by and see you tomorrow.
