2026 Canadian National Gliding Competition

Rockton, Canada,   27 July 2026 – 7 August 2026

Wed 29 July - Day 1

After three days of working on towplanes we finally managed to get all three of them airborne today, just in time for Day 1.  Fortunately, from a towplane perspective, the weather was not good enough on the practise days to even consider flying, easing the angst over the lack of towplanes.

The forecast for today was for strong winds and generally blue conditions.  The two classes gridded and around 2 pm the day was scrubbed due to strong gusty winds that would have made it difficult to fly a task and potentially unsafe for a landout.
