Junior World Gliding Championships 2007

Rieti, Italy,   29 July 2007 – 11 August 2007

Bon Giorno

No flying today! Except of course by the most beautiful " flying toys " I have seen here already. The Airshow will start at 10.30 and will go on all day. The opening of the 5th FAI JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS will be at 6.45 in the early evening. Everything seems ready for this big event! ONLY NOT ..the Lithuanian team , as they have not yet arrived!Scruteneering finished at 6 yesterday evening and today the handicap list will be presented!

We had the " finish touch " yesterday in the first TC briefing and except for a few issues which wait for an answer today, EVERYTHING is ready and....everybody seems happy.

After the meeting we all moved to town, driving in car\'s behind Leo and Marina. You can imagine this is not easy in a town with 50.000 inhabitants driving in their own very Italian way. But we all managed to be there in time. All young pilots looked nice in their team out fit and the speeches were all friendly , but in Italian. Marina did a fantastic job in translating all the stories.Champagne , cool drinks and a bite to eat; it was all perfectly organized by the mayor and his team. The very old hall where we were invited looked impressive.

More or less a rest day before the game starts!I will come back later during the day to inform you about the Airshow and about the opening. Then tommorow IT REALLY STARTS!!!!!!!Hope you follow the pilots on internet and here with us. Ritz
