Northern Regionals 2009

United Kingdom,   1 August 2009 – 9 August 2009

The beginning of the end...

Well guys, we\'ve got the results out before Hus Bos, which is in the end all that really matters!  I\'m about to go into the final briefing, having had a totally manic two hours trying to get everyone scored at top speed.  Many many contratulations to Mike Armstrong once again.  Next year when we\'re deciding the prizes we should just phone him up and ask him what he wants!  I think we\'ve only had two landouts today, and rather a fun mad dash round.  Pictures from prize-giving (if I get any) later.

Good morning everyone.  Beautiful looking sky again, and a thousand point day yesterday!  We've set two tasks this morning, but I suspect as today is the last day of the comp they are a little more conservative than they might otherwise have been as we need everyone back for prizegiving!  Task A is 163.2k, SUT - SU2 - POC - HLM - SOF - NRT - SU3 - FINLNN - SUT, and B is 100.9k, SUT - SU2 - MAL - HLM - SOF - SU3 - FLNLNN - SUT.  We had a cracking evening last evening, with Apple's wonderful auth...

Things happening!

As of about two minutes ago, W27 had called 10k, and KJH and HEF had landed out.  Pictures from today\'s takeoffs are already in the gallery courtesy of Claire - how efficient are we? :)

Launching began at 12.30 and we\'re definitely going for Task A.  The sky here looks amazing.

Well, we\'ve set a task A at 306.8k, which is SUT - SU2 - GAF - HAN - CTK - HUM - SU4 - FINLNS - SUT, and a Task B at 256.2k, SUT - SU2 - GAF - HAN - CTK - MAW - SU4 - FINLNS - SUT.  Can\'t imagine we\'ll have much call for the B though :)

Beautiful blue skies :)

Morning everyone.  Today looks FANTASTIC, with a perfect eggshell blue sky and cu in the distance already.  The tasks haven\'t been released yet, but before the briefing, here\'s our words from the metman: "A ridge of high pressure should produce good soaring conditions.  Localised reduced dewpoint (from forecast) will be likely to give areas of isolated Cu and blue conditions."

Almost everyone\'s landed now, somewhere at least.  I count 3 landouts and the rest finished.  Preliminaries up soon.
