Northern Regionals 2009

Velika Britanija,   01. avgust 2009 – 09. avgust 2009

Day 4

Hello everyone,

It's a beautiful blue sky with some high cover this morning, and the results now are rather different from last night!  A special mention should go out to Robert Starling, who not only took the most time of any pilot for the scoring team, but missed the start sector by 184m.  Had he not been penalized, he would have come in 3rd place, which in his ASW 15 is a major achievement.  Well done also to Jack, for his first win of the week, and to Alex Maitland, for buying me a drink in the bar last night :)

The metman has this morning come over all corporate, to make up for the scary picture of him from yesterday.  He comments,

"We are optimistic that the snaking front that has plagued us for the last two days has now moved away to the east and as high pressure builds, we are hopeful of improving soaring conditions."

Thank goodness we're not really that soulless, although it has been suggested that we start using a new slogan:  "The Northern Regionals - leveraging soaring synergies towards a new paradigm in task setting solutions to the cross-country competitive environment."   :D

Below is this morning's cross-section. At briefing this morning they announced that we are to grid to the west, and receive tasks in a rebrief at 12.  I'll keep you posted.
